Waffles are among the most delicious and versatile desserts you can find. Imagine a crispy, golden-brown waffle—freshly made and still warm—topped with an array of mouth-watering treats like fresh fruit, maple syrup, whipped cream, or even chocolate spread. This recipe yields waffles that are light, fluffy, and crispy all at once!
INGREDIENTS:
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 egg yolks
1 ½ cups milk
4 tbsp vegetable oil
2 egg whites
PREPARATION:
Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks well, then add the milk and oil.
Pour all at once over the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is just combined.
Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry, and fold them into the batter.
Heat the waffle iron to the desired temperature and oil the plates for the first batch of waffles only. Cook for about 5 minutes.
